Dr. Pieter Scholtz has started various other companies in the Hoedspruit area, including Blydevallei Game Breeders, which was established in 2001 and is currently breeding with disease-free Buffalo. Because of his passion for Nature and the importance of a sustainable environment, wildlife forms an integral part of his business and the Blydevallei vision.

Dr. Scholtz qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon (BVSc) at Onderstepoort in 1989 and concluded a BSc (Hons) in Wildlife Management in 1991 at the University of Pretoria.

The primary focus of breeding of animals is based on the owner’s vision to create sustainable breeding groups of Prime Genetics in South Africa. We are passionate about buffalo and breeding top quality genetics. We have been breeding selectively with top quality bloodlines of Lowveld buffalo for the last 17 years. Shingwedzi (48 4/8″) is currently our main breeding bull and is proving to be a bull with impressive breeding prepotency, producing an extraordinarily high percentage of calves with his exceptional horn growth and width. He walks with 40 cows. We also had the opportunity to breed with a 51” bull (Levubu) and have 29 calves from his bloodline.

Dr. Scholtz is also a partner in Brakrivier Bavaria, a 4500 ha game farm in the Musina area.

Blydevallei Game Breeders is a member of the Classic Game Breeders group and participate actively in the game industry in our annual Classic Game Breeders auction, in partnership with Wildswinkel.
